1242 Magdeburg’s hemispheres

The Magdeburg Hemispheres demonstrate that a lot of force is needed to separate the hemispheres if there is a partial vacuum inside them.
The Magdeburg Hemispheres show that the atmospheric pressure pushes the two spheres one against the other.
They are made of metal, with grinding rims, supplied with rubber-holder so that they can be fitted to a vacuum pump
through a rubber tube.
Diameter: 80 mm.
